If Sanctions in Iran Were Going to Work - They Would Have Already
It amazes me that our top leadership continues to practice the art and definition of insanity; that is to say doing the same things over and over again and expecting the different results. Now, I realize that President Obama promised during the campaign that he would go and meet with our nations enemies face-to-face and negotiate through diplomacy and all that academic be nice to your neighbor, win their hearts and minds with kindness crap, but we live in the real world, and well, those nice gestures and talk haven’t worked yet.
Some say President Obama promised to negotiate with Iran and do things diplomatically, but you know what? He’s promised a lot of things and hasn’t don’t any of those either. So, it’s time to swallow the pride, be a man and show the world that the US is not going to stand for mass proliferation of WMD; as in nuclear, chemical, biological weapons. We’ve already had back door talks with the Iranians, those talks have been going on secretly back and forth for years. All this showmanship in the media is nonsense, Iran continues to enrich Uranium to make nuclear weapons with.
Economic Sanctions have not worked, the leadership doesn’t care if the people are poor, and sanctions will not work in the future because Russia, China, Syria, and many other nations continue to trade with Iran. There will always be buyers for their oil, unless the pipelines are torn out. Iran borders many countries, including two that the US currently controls, albeit, obviously not very well. Since sanctions have not worked and will not work in the future, Obama’s cries for more multi-national sanctions are laughable at best, and a media play that is all too common for this young and naïve president.
Either we get busy using military force or we allow Iran to have nuclear weapons, and that means we allow Venezuela, Libya, Syria, Bolivia, Ecuador, Brazil, Iraq, and others to have them too. And then Indonesia, and all the African nations as well, this is what’s at stake, and we either make a stand now, or back off big time. President Obama’s inaction on this pressing matter of our time will mean nuclear detonations by nations, rogue governments, and terrorists will be a common future occurrence. We need leadership, we need it now, and we don’t need more speeches, talk, media PR press releases or voting “present” this time.
