Is the President Attempting to Take the "Obama" Out of ObamaCare?
Our President claims to be taking a “hiatus” from the HealthCare debate according to administration officials that had an exclusive interview with the New York Times, refusing to discuss the issue with Fox News recently. The President’s staff said he was allowing the Democrat Legislators to work out their differences, which political critics say is a buzz-phrase meaning; “it’s their bill, not mine, so don’t call it ObamaCare, because if this thing fails, it’s not on me.”
This is what I am saying, me personally, this is my charge and what I believe this little “Hiatus” to mean, and to me, it’s clear as day. The gentleman wants to vote “present” and distance himself from the debate. I think that should be obvious to anyone stepping back and looking at the reality of all this political podium posturing practice.
Perhaps, this is a very prudent political move considering the sliding poll numbers that our favorite podium pushing politician has recently been posting? After all, why put your neck on the chopping block if the “public option” and key components of ObamaCare cannot get passed the Senate Committee into the bill? No sense in going down with the ship, it’s far better to vote-present from “Hiatusberg” than to be blamed as the reason for failure.
Indeed, we should expect that somehow his staff and public relations team will blame it all on President Bush and their current political opponents. Stepping back from the Health Care debate will also help the President focus on more pressing matters such as Iran and North Korea nuclear weapons program, War in Afghanistan, Tensions in Pakistan, Chinese Trade, and Wall Street Bailouts.
Oh yeah, and the legal attacks from the right on that birth certificate issue which seems be something that just will not go away for some reason? Indeed, it is my sincere hope that you will consider all this and see things from the political perspective rather than the nonsense that we get from the news.
