yet most pagans have been agreeing with me? i’m not ignoring shit. i haven’t seen any other comments. i don’t get notified every time when i get a comment and i was on the phone all night
my attitude is mine and my feelings are mine. you get offended by anything that isn’t relative to what you agree with
and by the way i dont hate you! twist words as you must, i honestly do not care if people gossip about me, nor does Jesse. We’re confident enough to look past that shit

I agree. People don’t quite understand that Christianity cannot be boxed up all neat and pretty, Like any other religion, it’s messy and complicated.

See Amber, I’ve been asking you questions that you’ve also been ignoring. I didn’t say one mean thing to you, but your attitude towards this subject is appauling. You talk about respect for religion, but you have shown no respect. You didn’t bother to ask what someone beleives before you condemn it. In fact, your argument condemns MOST PAGANS. So good luck with that.
BlueFireWitch said,

I’m not the one calling other people’s religion dumb as shit before you even ask them what it is they believe. You just jumped like a rabid dog before even understanding the concepts you are condemning. Do you realize that most of the Pagan community mixes pantheons? Do you realize that your argument insulted every Thelemite, most Wiccans and most every eclectic pagan that makes up the majority of our community? I don’t think you do, and if you did, then you are more arrogant than I thought.

You call it unfortunate, I call it the Dilemma of Mixed motivation. I frankly see people who want to separate from the eclectic Wicca as elitists not understanding the nature of religion and how it is changes.
BlueFireWitch said,

Orthopraxic religion is as it does, which means that BT Wicca no longer accurately describes Wicca.
BlueFireWitch said,
June 9, 2009 @ 1:01 am
But that’s really irrelevant. That’s the Gardenarian tradition, not Wicca as a whole which has outgrown his tradition. Wicca is orthropraxic like every other religion. Chrisitanity has changed since it’s inception, but the protestants aren’t called neoChristians. They are Christians, and in fact, they define mainstream Christianity even though they are newer. Same with Eclectic Wicca, it IS Wicca just as much as BT Wicca.

They want people to think they have the majority but they don’t. And even if they do they are still wrong. Someone needs to tell them to look up the word conspiracy. And it is impossible to follow the bible 100%. There is no way to do that.

Oh yes, he recognized it. But he worshiped two specific deities, according to the Wiccan religion. The names of those Deities are known only to initiates.
And I like how people are “thumbs downing” me, because I believe a religion should stay as it is. If one changes it, it becomes something else (ie. Roman Catholicism, then Anglican, Baptist, Luthern, etc). Wicca, unfortunately, is NOT an umbrella term. It is a religion, like Heathenry or Buddhism, with specific dogma and deities.

Wicca is a religion, it is orthopraxic. Therefore, it means one must practice the same as those who practiced the religion before them. Therefore, it means that those who practice Wicca NOW should practice as those who practiced BEFORE, meaning they must perform the same rituals as the Wiccans did in the early 1900s and before then. Unfortunately, the wiccans who practice according to Llewellyn books by $RW, Kate West, DJ Conway, etc. are not practicing as their religious predecessors did.

I’ve been gone for awhile and things have gotten a little crazy. It’s obvious that this is bothering you and a lot of other people on YT. I hope everything settles down for everyone soon.

p.s. Enlightened? Using that word is bound to ruffle feathers. Maybe mature would’ve been a better word choice. *shrug*

My **personal** issue with combining the two (as with any religion) is that when you bring another faith into yours you’re not just bringing the pantheon, you’re bringing the dogma, history, and beliefs. If all of that can’t be combined then maybe the term Christian Wicca isn’t the right term.
As I told Circle, I think combining religions is disrespectful when you don’t acknowledge the faiths you’re combining with yours.
To each his own I guess.

She never had a problem with the merging of the two, she just didn’t believe that PLC’s beliefs made him both Christian and Wiccan. He told her exactly what he did believe, so she retracted her video and apologized. They disagreed, he pointed out where he was correct, and she admitted honorably that he was right and she was wrong. Besides, that was long before they were together.

Appealing to majority is a false argument. It doesn’t matter what the masses think. The masses still think that Gay Marriage should be illegal, does that mean they are right? No, perfect example of how appealing to majority means nothing to the validity of a religion. Most Christians don’t accept Santeria-does that mean it’s not a valid religion? It’s a mixing of two other religions. Are they all wrong too?
BlueFireWitch said,
June 9, 2009 @ 1:01 am
So you’ve made a point, but now you have to argue why that is. I’ve seen you say it cheapens it, but you haven’t demonstrated how it cheapens it. Especially considering that bringing elements from one religion into Wicca is what MOST Wiccans do. I’m still waiting to hear the logic behind that idea.
BlueFireWitch said,
June 9, 2009 @ 1:01 am
You defined Christianity as diametriacally opposed to Wicca.
BlueFireWitch said,

If mixing religions cheapens religion, then all religious people on the face of the earth are cheap bastards.
BlueFireWitch said,

What question, the snarky comment about not watching the video? funny thing is, it was still relevant. How can syncretism cheapen religion?? It’s how religions FORM.
BlueFireWitch said,
June 9, 2009 @ 1:01 am
two bodies? I am not Christian Wiccan. There is no single authority to EITHER religion. As mentioned Christianity has 35000 different denominations and Wicca has thousands as well. No central authority. There is NO BODY to speak of.

why not try answering my question instead of dodging it? this is stupid. this is why i didn’t want to even debate you because you take things so much to heart. its fine and ok to be passionate about your beliefs but you can’t handle anything when its directed toward you. you take things to heart so much. we already made our points in how it cheapens religion.

Here’s my final word on it BFW… for the night anyways. If you’re going to mix 2 religions you should at least get an idea of what these TWO bodies feel about it. I think you need to make a sales pitch for this little CHristian wiccan conversion and you need to take it into a church on sunday afternoon and you need to present it to the church to see what they think.
I’m confident the reaction you’ll receive should settle it, don’t you?
BlueFireWitch said,

If it’s so ridiculous, refute it instead of just talking shit.
AmberThinks said,

so which is it? you watched Jesse’s video after you made a video response which is ridiculous as it is, or you watched enough and he just started bitching?
