Capital Punishment: are you pro or against it?

Based on the Capital Punishment statistics of 2006, 31 inmates were sentenced of death penalty and by the next year it increased by 11 inmates.

Capital Punishment, often referred to as death penalty, is a state law permitting to execute someone for doing a crime. The crimes committed are called the “capital punishment/offense”.

Some lucky prisoners are being sentenced out of capital punishment yearly due to their good records and recall of the cases.

The history of the capital punishment may seem familiar to you: it is the time when beheading is the main consequence of each crime. At least now, it’s less morbid. Don’t you think?

Pro-life ask for execution of men

  • People and groups in favor of capital punishment, believes in the natural law where the government or state has the right to punish the criminals and/or execute them if they are “a threat both to the innocent and to the harmony of society”.
  • Pro-life movement expects the government and law body of the state to protect the society and its people in every circumstance.
  • According to their official site, the innocent will suffer, there will be an increase of unjust aggressors and no harmony, and the freedom of every citizen will be lost.
  • As they end their reaction with a scripture from the Genesis 9:6 that said: “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed”.

Church remained against killing

  • Catholic against Capital Punishment (CACP) is a group of lay people and clergy, who endorsed more awareness of the teachings of Catholic Church the talk of death penalty as pointless in out modernize time.
  • The group talks of capital punishment in regards to the laws and bible teachings. They believe that the more we accept death penalty, the greater we impose violence through revenge and punishment is considered against the right of human (criminal) to live.
  • CACP believes that man has the ability to change if he wanted and so they oblige society to think that those criminals must be given a second chance.

It is definitely dreading to see criminals that you felt you are compelled to fight for the lost of innocent lives, but when you realize that they are human too, everything gets convoluted. So, should capital punishment be continued or abolished?
